Tuesday Thoughts #6

Hello!

Today is a quote of calmness, meditation and relaxation.

From this FP blog post: "A lot of the time we ignore the true callings of our body because emotions like stress very cleverly disguise our honest needs and turn them into dishonest actions..." Meaning, mindless actions, which are inevitably self-destructive. Focused breathing is the antidote. :)

This month has been extremely stressful with loads of busy events happening and humongous piles of work loads. Sometimes, you just need to sit back and take a deep breath and just think 'this is my life - I am in control'...

As you read this, I am currently on holiday with the school in Paris (expect lots of photos to come) and enjoying all the touristy life there :)

I have been looking forward to this trip as I think it will be a nice, well-deserved 5 day break from chaotic life.

So, my message for you today is to JUST BREATHE and accept that sometimes you're going to be uber busy and sometimes you'll be able to reward yourself with a peaceful break.

What have you been up to recently?

Tuesday Thoughts #5

Hello!

I've always been a believer in positivity so today I thought I would share a quote to inspire you to stay happy.
When is rains look for rainbows. When it's dark look for stars.
I just don't understand people's motive to be negative - what is the point? After all, you only get one life so why struggle to not enjoy yourself, everyone deserves to have happiness.

I think this quote is really inspiring as it's basically saying that no matter the situation or how bad things get, there will always be something good even if it is small. Be optimistic. Try to focus on something positive and that will help you to get through your difficulty.

If you can't find anything positive in a situation, try and make your own positivity - do things that make you happy!

What makes you happy?

Soap & Glory Love

Hello!

There are many brands that I adore and 'Soap & Glory' is definitely one of them! I love their down-to-earth retro styled packaging with funny little comments that make me smile. My favourite products from their range at the moment are their 'heel genius' and 'sugar crush body wash'...

The 'heel genius' is so great for my feet that I have almost finished two and will definitely be buying another soon! It is a brilliant foot cream that softens and smooths the feet over night. This is the best cream for my feet that I have found as it really helps to moisturise and stops those horrible hard cracked heels from appearing during the no-sock-sandal months of the Summer :)

Their massive 500ml bottle of body wash from the sugar crush range is also a winner in my book! It has the most amazingly citrus scent of lime and kiwi zest which is a great energy booster and wake-up trigger for those early mornings! This refreshing, yet relaxing foamy wash is perfect for baths or showers.

What's your favourite 'Soap & Glory' product?

Tuesday Thoughts #4

Hello!

This week, I've decided to take a step back to think about how lucky I am to have the things that I have and I thought I would encourage you to do the same...

always.

In modern times, we tend to not think about what we have and only about things we don't own and stuff we want. However, I think it is really important to be thankful for all the things that we do have.

I have always wanted to visit Africa and, I know everyone says it, but honestly they are always so happy for every little thing they have. I think, as they don't have that much, everything means so much more to them and has a greater value. Just look at this picture below; the children are so excited to have been given some pencils and paper to write with. I think this is so inspirational and there is such a great message to take away from this:
BE THANKFUL for everything you have.

This picture ties in nicely with the quote because if you are reading this now, you have the internet which means you own many luxuries and technological things that some people could only dream about!

My challenge today to you is to say THANK YOU everyday for something that you have (that could just be an ordinary item to you).

Just be grateful for life. What are you thankful for?

Pantiles, Tunbridge Wells

Hello!

This week I visited the Pantiles in Tunbridge Wells with some lovely friends. It was such a beautiful strip of shops that I though I would share some photos with you :)

The style of this blue and white crockery is possibly my favourite type of homeware products.
This is just such a fabulous idea! I think that everyone should have a wooden ladder as a shelf in their home.
The huge bay windows on all the shops have such great displays and I think the stuffed animals in 'Collared' pet shop are no exception (although this photo doesn't do them much justice).
There are so many tearooms in the Pantiles and we decided to visit the Shrager's Patisserie. Its a really lovely eaterie with high quality food and good prices.
We ordered the afternoon tea accompanied with darjeeling tea - look how delicious it looks! *mouth waters*
The outdoor picnic tables look so pretty, coordinated together with the tiny flower pots.
I always think that florists look so beautiful with their blooming flowers.
I love that the Sue Hill childrenswear shop has two little bay leaf trees marking the entrance.
This sweet building is the old fishmarket and is now a champagne and seafood bar.
They had some much gorgeous greenery, adding nature to the scenery.
They had a variety of stores even a massive Jack Wills with huge windows and pillars in front.
Have you ever visited the Pantiles? What's your fav place?

Tuesday Thoughts #3

Hello!

Happy Tuesdayyy! Back to school after the holidays so dreaming of crazy days in the woodland fields from last week :)

True...

This is such a beautiful quote that I think just sums up life! It reminds me of the happiness of an energetic young child, wild music festivals and the best bare-footed 'photo shoot' memories with my friends.

I just think that, even though it is obviously important to work well, study hard and get good grades in your education, it is also important to just enjoy your life. After all, you only live once!

I try to organise my time by spending the school week working and then chilling on the weekends. This doesn't always go to plan... but you know at least I tried, right?! I think that at the end of a long, stressful week it is important to let your hair down and play around and enjoy the world and your surroundings. There is more to life than work by the way :)

Have a good week and keep dreaming of  your Saturday lie-in!
What have you got planned for this weekend?

Fabulous Face Masks

Hello!

Recently I have been loving these face masks from Superdrug. There is a large variety of types and my favourites are pictured below. As well as the lovely mixture of the product, I love the fun look of the packaging and the fact that the face masks aren't just for one-time use (making them great value for money).

The 'Dead Sea Mud Mask' is great for detoxifying the skin for a smooth, invigorated complexion. The mixture of this product is ultra-purifying and unclogs pores, leaving the skin feeling revitalised. In my experience, it helps to clear the skin as it dries onto the face. Afterwards, just cleanse with warm water to remove and you are left with a soft, exfoliated complexion.

My other preference of the collection is the 'Vitamin E Moisture Mask' which hydrates the skin to leave your face feeling soft and supple. The nourishing effects of Grapeseed Oil and the antioxidant properties of Vitamin E protect the skin for a long-lasting younger-looking complexion. Unlike some face masks, this one quenches the skin and is not rinsed off so that the product can continue to soak into the skin.

What's your favourite face mask?

Garden Picnic Party

Hello!

Summer is finally on it's way and with hot (ish) weather, come fun garden parties with lots of cake! Here are my steps to creating the best picnic party for all your friends...

1. First create the decorations - hang bunting between the trees and make the garden as pretty as can be!
2. Then bake lots of cakes and sweet treats and display them on lovely plates and stands.
3. Place all the nibbles on your garden table.
4. Add lots of paper straw to glass jar cups (very #tumblr! ) and ensure there are lots of drinks around.
5. Spread a large blanket across the floor and add loads of colourful cushions.
6. Invite all your friends around to enjoy it with you.
7. Have fun together :)
What are your plans for the summer?
Are you hosting a garden party? If so, I hope it goes well :)

Tuesday Thoughts #2

Hello!

Another Tuesday, another thought - thank you Pinterest, land of all inspiration!

Insight <3

I have always been one for spontaneous adventures. I just think that there are a lot more things that you see in the world if you just open your eyes to them. It is always good to have a plan and roughly know what you want to do and were you want to be in life. However, I think it is best to allow yourself to be flexible and say yes to any opportunities that arise. This leads on to last weeks post as from saying 'yes' you can then see what happens and enjoy it. After all, what is the fun of forcing yourself to stick to a severely structured plan for no reason?

See where the wind takes you...

Classic Cars

Hello!

Today I visited the annual classic car show on the seafront. I'm not really into cars (at all) but I like the vintage style that most of the old vehicles have and the story behind a lot of them. I thought I'd share a few pics with you of some of my favs...
I love the vibrant bold red colour of this truck.
This beautiful traditional car is used for wedding hire.
I think the bright blue colour was the best.
This old American car has such an awesome shiny engine...
...and the white leather bench seats look as if they have just come out of the movies!
The engine on this car was so massive in comparison to the body.
I just think the huge steering wheels are so cool!
They even had old-fashioned police cars...
...and motorbikes...
...and tractors...
...and post office telephone trucks...
 ...and fun looking trucks!
Why don't cars look as great as this any more?
This reminds me of the toy cars I had when I was younger with the rack for suitcases and hampers.
The bright sunny yellow just makes me smile :)
This is possibly the best in show! Isn't it amazing?!
What's your favourite car?
